For the Love of Christ

March 31, 2013

The struggle against the Money Power and its Usury is only the physical arm of the real spiritual battle: the war against self. It is a way of showing that we are in this world, but not of it.

Usury and Deflation, which is not a lesser scourge, are two of the key ways for Satan to weaponize the love of money, which is the root of all evil.

Not only do they redistribute wealth to the rich, they create artificial scarcity of money.

Scarcity of money is yet another paradoxical monetary issue. Even today, while the world seems awash in cash, money is scarce in terms of Interest-Free Economics, because there is not enough money in circulation to provide for a fully operational economy. Scarcity of money hinders the match between supply and demand.

Money is scarce when there is all the capital we need and all the labor we need, while not all the work is getting done. That’s the situation today, like it has been for a very long time now.

Usury creates scarcity of money, because it systematically redistributes to the rich who recirculate only that part of their wealth they need for conspicuous consumption and ‘investments’ that will only further increase their wealth. Deflation is taking money out of circulation, so its relation to the theme is self-explanatory.

The love of money is the love of self
Because money is scarce, there is always unemployment. Because there is always unemployment, there is always an existential angst. Because there is this fundamental fear, people focus on survival, even at the cost of their brethren. Because they focus on survival instead of doing His will and relying on His abundant Providence, self grows. Because self grows, Christ dwindles.

Jesus taught we need take up our cross to follow Him. And for what is the cross? To crucify self on, of course. That is our main task, every day of our lives. Few hear of this in churches, because the many prefer the easy grace: proclaiming Jesus is Lord and singing nice songs in church on Sunday. To them Christianity is more a social occasion, a pleasant illusion to cover up their fear, shame and guilt. They are not saved, alas. They are the goats, sent to the left.

Killing self never was a popular option. Most people continue to cling to the five aggregates (awareness, mind, heart, senses and body), as the Buddha put it, because they really believe they are self and are not desperate enough to look hard enough for a way out.

Sometimes I am, but self is an incredibly addictive object. Every time my focus on Christ ends my misery, I immediately disconnect from Him for more self-inflicted pain. It is indeed true that it is not darkness we fear, but the Light.

Self crucifixion certainly sounds painful, but that is the voice of self and as always it is wrong. It is self that is the cause of all pain. Jesus did not leave us with painful messages. Truth only hurts in the beginning, when we are still enthralled with the lie. He left us with the key to liberation and He sure walked His talk.

It took me a decade to understand what self or ego actually is. Once you see it, it’s simple enough though: self is everything that preoccupies awareness. Awareness itself is the most sticky bit of self.

“He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30) is how John the Baptist put it. The endgame of human development is permanent, complete focus on Christ. Through Him we will know our Father too.

Getting our priorities straight
By combating Usury and Deflation we hope to alleviate the pressures of artificial scarcity and to provide people with a more relaxed lifestyle. The idea is that if we take away fear for survival, people will be less absorbed by material issues. Less prone to the love of money.

In all fairness: it’s an uphill struggle. The premise is incorrect. Because it is love of self that allows the system, not the other way around. It is because people love self, that they look up to others with a bigger self. People have no compassion for the ultra wealthy, for their enslavement to matter. They see them as an example. They want to be one of them, instead of seeing these people have a problem and are an even bigger one.

Why fix the system if it is not broken? This is the question that most people don’t even care to ask, because to them the answer seems so self-evident.

True reform, true economic liberation can only come from ending our preoccupation with self. Recently a friend of mine told me Rudolf Steiner taught that society can only function well if people are willing to give, not-for-profit, the added value of their work to the community.

He was right.

It’s a mistake to say: but this can only work when everybody does it. It starts to work when the first one does it. In fact, it were the people who did this throughout the ages that kept humanity going, notwithstanding the horrible odds.

Thank you Jesus, for showing us the way. Thank you Christ for being in all our hearts always. For responding every time we disconnect from self. For the ever growing bliss with every step we take in your direction. For your providence, your forgiveness, for your willingness to rule our hearts and destinies if we let you.

May our faith, our hope and above all, our charity grow every day.

Thank you Father, for the Christ.

Beautiful words, Anthony. Just today when I watched two lectures from Ann Barnhardt, an hysterical ( and visibly unbalanced person, although she sometimes get it right ), and in the first one she emphasizes: “never trust ANYONE talking about ending usury. These people are insane, and in 99.9 % of the cases, what fuels this is ( guess – she was indignant at this point ) anti-semitism. I won’t tolerate any of this crap”. Then she went on to say that the only two systems that deny usury, Islam and Marxism, are completely anti-human. According to her, usury is even religiously justified by the “Parable of the Talents”, besides being intrinsically human, a way to affirm human personality in society by valuing ” human time”. My gut instinct tells me that if anyone could philosophically counter her arguments in a convincing way, many economic “puzzles” would be solved; I just don’t have the conceptual baggage to do it right now. Check her out on youtube; I guess it’s at least worth a laugh.

    • Great to hear Henrique.

Yes, this is well known nonsense. The talents parable is….a parable. For the way we use our talents, so it’s not like it’s very enigmatic. It has been debunked so often, since the money power agents like Gary North keep regurgitating it. Equating anti usury activism with anti-semitism is the oldest trick in the book, you know my page on that.

The reality is that Jesus said said in Luke 6:34 to lend freely, expecting nothing in return.

It’s also interesting that she would say that it ‘values human time’. It is those spending time working that lose to usury. Those with plenty of leisure time receive usury, hence their leisure. A brilliant article why usury is untenable from a Christian perspective (so excluding the mechanical problems and the Kennedy analysis) by Anthony Santelli is here:

When human system becomes bankrupt, God’s kingdom, His Love, Truths, & Provision remain, and can never be bankrupt forever.

Let us accept the brutal truths of the saddest realities that the worst of the global financial crisis and, the materialistic age, monetary bankruptcy are in eventful manifestations all over the world and our humility is a paramount to accept the practical solution gradually and progressively to save citizens of nations from senseless deaths.

Global Banking/Financial Crisis does not literally mean economic crisis. Yes, there is nerve-wracking news of global financial crisis, but the good news is that we’re still in the age of the global plenty-which that matters over the global banking crisis.

Peoples of good will by nature and by God’s compelling grace will certainly do the acts of love, charity, compassion, mercy and justice.

God’s children in times of crisis should be in – loving service, unselfish devotion, courageous loyalty, sincere fairness, enlightened honesty, undying hope, confiding trust, merciful ministry, unfailing goodness, forgiving tolerance and enduring peace.

As Children of God, let us completely put an end to economic apartheid.

Do not confuse people with religious mambo jumbo.
The All Mighty in his wisdom, did not have a religion or promote one.

Two simple rules to govern one’s conduct.
a)Do not harm any one or any thing (including animals, stop eating them)
    b) Do not usurp either from Mother Earth or your fellow brothers and sisters.

One cannot stuff a child crying out for a morsel of food with any religious mambo jumbo.

He or she cannot await another 2500 year for a failed story telling to deliver.

Every thing about usuary etc I agree

    • Christianity didn’t fail moneylender, Christians, or better, X-tians do. I’m not into religion and you are surely right Christ is not either. Here he is, scolding the priests of his day:
13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in [yourselves], neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Christ is about personal communion, for which we need to disconnect from self.

It certainly has nothing to do with stuffing a child with mumbo jumbo when its hungry, and most certainly many X-tians practice that abomination.

One knows a tree by its fruits and only by doing His will, which we can learn by studying scripture (and not only the Bible either) and first and foremost by prayer and meditation, can we free ourselves from karma and really add to the Kingdom here on earth.

Religions have nothing to do with humanity, as Professor Norman Chomsky pointed out all religions have and are genocidal.

You tried to hide behind religious mambo jumbo just as the brainwashed majority.

Buddhism is a philosophy of life, harm no one kill no one etc.I admit I am not an expert on any religions as I do not need any religious mambo jumbo to conduct my life.

After all you enjoy killing animals and eating them and feed them to your children.

What sort of human are you.?Even others who have expressed their opinions.

The King of the Jungles is a vegetarian it majestically roams the earth with out harming any one except in self defence.

The Torah, The Bible, the Koran, the Gita and all other religions condemn usury, nothing exceptional about christinaty.

Stick to Interest Free Loans for productive capacity, forget about religious mambo jumbo, you will do well.

Same goes for all those who wish to be free on the invisible neck less and angle irons equally lethal as the real ones.

”None is more ENSLAVED than those who hopelessly believe that they are free”

        • From where the hostility moneylender?

I think I do a good job not mixing the monetary message with all the other issues that preoccupy me. But today is Easter, it’s a special day for many people.

Furthermore, the monetary fits into a larger picture. I think my readers have a right to know how I view the larger picture. Everybody is searching for it, I don’t believe it is really out of the ordinary to show a little bit about where I come from on occasion. I believe the spiritual is essential. Just as I believe it is impossible to completely ignore the conspiracy and associated Jewish Question. I don’t hammer it home, to avoid scaring off people who are interested in the monetary, but here too, I believe it’s important people know where I stand.

I think it’s useful to say that the Protocols very expressly make the point they intend to do away with Christ, so the Banking Fraternity most certainly takes it seriously. That in itself should give us (you too) pause.

It’s great you have your own perspective, including your preoccupation with vegetarianism. By the way, you are not only making assumptions about my own eating habits, you’re actually grossly attacking me: ‘what kind of human are you?’. The fact is I eat meat about once a week, but I take it very easy with it and I eat only organic meat, to avoid complicity with the horrible plight of the animals in industrial ‘farming’.

Vegetarians actually are a pretty ideological and aggressive bunch, as witnessed by your comments. Not unlike the organized religions, of which I am not a part. In no way have I attacked ‘non-believers’ like you just attacked me.

I most certainly don’t want to ‘convince’ you of anything and don’t mind at all that you and all the other feedbackers share your and their point of view. On the contrary, it’s highly instructive for me.

          So take it easy man!

          • By the way: why quote Chomsky?
He’s a prime gatekeeper keeping people away from the monetary.

My most humble apologies it was not my intention to cause offence, but animals are such loving creatures and if you see the anquish and agony when one looses it’s mother or calf, and vice versa one cannot be oblivious. When the All Mighty has provided us with every thing we need with out depriving these hapless beings, organic or other wise. It’s like justifying colateral damage or friendly fire.
No I am not an animal rights campaigner smashing up people or establishment.
I am a committed pacifist and heve been in the campaighn for exposing the banks over 30 years.
I was manhandled initially and hence had to lie low for a while.
I object all reformers who try to introduce any religion, that it self of counter productive it creates animorsity and the main thread is lost.
In my campaigns I only concentrate on compound interest and debt and most people are prepared to listen.
History is now on our side so better not muddle it up with religious mambo jumbo.
As for Chomsky, he has done a lot at personal rish, I tried once to entise him into monetary campaign, and guessd his reluctance and did not push it any further.

          • I don’t take the Bible at face value. Many of the original texts are not in it and were destroyed in the early days of ‘Catholicism’, which is not Christianity proper. Furthermore: it’s not the Word of God. The Word is a very old concept. The Stoïcs, for instance, called the Creator, whom they saw as part of His creation, the Logos.

Jesus Christ is the Logos in Christianity proper. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. There is much truth in the Bible. But Truth is with the Word.
But these are subtleties that elude even most Christians, so I’ll not bother you too much with them………

The anguish you speak of is the reason I don’t eat mammals. People need to wake up to this greatly overlooked aspect of Christ’s teaching.

It is told how He was physically sickened by the smell of the burning flesh of slaughtered lambs. And profoundly saddened by the wicked barbarism of killing this most gentle of creatures.

Saddened, sick to his stomach and supremely pissed off at those involved in this monstrous sin.

    • The PTB are very jealous of anyone trying to take over their system. They murdered everybody who tried. But they have great difficulty dealing with people operating outside of it. They are planning a clampdown though, a major one, that’s for sure. But they don’t fear anybody taking over, or fighting the system. They fear people deserting the system and creating real alternatives outside of it. They appear to hope to win, because they don’t really see anybody designing real alternatives outside of the system. Can’t blame ‘m for that.

      We’re gonna change that though.

  8. I’m not a religious person anymore, maybe pantheist, but certainly not Christian.
I still want to fight Mammon on your side though.
Probably most of you have already read this, but for those who haven’t:

    http://www.secondspring.co.uk/articles/borruso.htm

    • Christianity in fact knows a God with two aspects: Transcendental (The Father) and Immanent (the Son, Christ). John 1:

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

This is probably the most the most vital ontological bit in the Bible.

Christ, also known as the Word, created everything. Charles Crosby, who used to comment here too, really opened that up to me. The Trinity is a fabrication of later days, based on a misconception of the Spirit Jesus promised to send when He left.
Jesus the man was not God, the Christ, who IS God lived in the selfless Jesus.

So Christianity proper is not at all at odds with pantheism. It fully supports it.

I most certainly am not ‘religious’ either. Spirituality is a personal path, first and foremost. It has nothing to do with organized religion, which is completely antithetical to personal communion with the Spirit.

Brilliant link. Gesell certainly was a great man.

      • Interesting, thanks.
I think you would like the interview series to Joseph Campbell titled “The Power of Myth”.
It’s beautiful how he connects all religions, or spiritual traditions if you prefer.

But my greatest influence is probably Friedrich Nietsche, and I just don’t believe that Jesus were more than a man. I stopped believing that long before abandoning Christianity for agnosticism, later reading Nietsche, and later self-describe as pantheist.
I still remember many stories from the bible, and of course I’m fine with everyone professing the faith they choose.

  9. i think your characterization of the crucifixition as a kind of suicide is heresy. Christ did not despair of life and commit suicide but was murdered. Judas despaired and commited suicide. Christ, as a result his ineffable love for life and humanity, allowed himself to be sacrificed. He did not wish to die, “let this cup pass …” . but only to do the Will of God.

We all are created in the image of God, and hence are inherently good — not illusions or imperfections to be negated through irratiional meditations and a terminal neglect of our material selves.. This is the lie that budhism teaches, and it is wrong to incoporate this thinking into Christianity. We are not called to destroy ourselves, but to renounce that which is foreign to our divinely created natures, sin. To continually reject that which is sinful in ourselves and the world is not a self destructive process. On the contrary, in spite of great suffering (and death), choosing to Carrying the Cross means that we grow spiritually and to become more fully who God has ordained us to be.

    • Thanks pm.

Self crucifixion certainly sounds painful, but that is the voice of self and as always it is wrong. It is self that is the cause of all pain. Jesus did not leave us with painful messages…..It took me a decade to understand what self or ego actually is. Once you see it, it’s simple enough though: self is everything that preoccupies awareness. Awareness itself is the most sticky bit of self. Jesus is Life, self is death. Jesus most certainly does not want us to die and he most certainly did not want to die himself. But he realized the will of the Father leads always to more life, even in death.

The key is that self is not a real object, it is what we identify with. And everything we identify with that is not Christ is death.

That’s why Christ says we must first die to live and that if we will not die (to self) we will not live.

Letting go of self, also means letting go of the pride defect. Our human pride defect seems to be our biggest flaw.

Let’s assume world history is something like a monopoly game that is already in play. Bankers and money powers get to play the game; they can make cheap loans to their friends, buy property, and influence government to adjust laws in their favor. The other players, every time they pass “GO”, do not get a direct injection of M0 (base money), making world history less favorable to labor than the actual monopoly game.

Over the years, bankers and money powers have figured out how to take rents on money (usury) and on land (by controlling it) and also in markets (monopoly).

The game is already well in motion and we are born into it.

If we are born into a position of relative ease and control, say we are on the receiving end of rents e.g. usury, it is our pride defect that can explain it away, and make justifications.

I’m smarter. I deserve it. Those others aren’t people, they are animals. They are little people. They are just useless eaters.

If I’m really pride defective, I might even adopt a religion that gives cover to my defect. Or, if I’m super prideful, I might consider myself God, because then I can truly justify my prideful transgressions.

  11. Luke Wagner permalink

Ro 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Ro 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Ro 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Crucifying the flesh by human effort is ineffective only with the help of the Spirit can that be done. Jesus as a sin offering condemns sin in the flesh. Jesus as a sin offering is not a direct type and shadow of the sin offering on the day of atonement in the Old Testament, He10:10. The body of Christ, as his body, is part of or one with the sin offering.

He 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Not love of self is the problem, but greed. Do not mistake them. Most people think that interest is compensation of inflation and it is something that have to be given to them if they put their money into a bank. That’s completely wrong. They just do not understand the system. Most people think that the money are printed by government and have no idea of hidden redistribution system of interest. Do not crucify yourself in the name of something (even God). God have sent you here to live, fight and enjoy live. Just sit down, relax and think what are you sent here to do. In order to take down money power many people have to know how the redistribution system works. If critical mass is reached they will change the system. So free money thinkers have to make web site witch exposes the current money system. It should not be a blog. It should be static site with flowing items: 1. How money are created. 2. Why interest can be charged. 3. The missing money for interest, and why economy have to grow every year. 4. The hidden redistribution system. 5. The solution. I believe that solution is demmurage currency issued and spent into circulation by the central government.
That way you can direct everybody to the site to learn how the system works. When critical mass is reached and people know that interest is hurting them, then the self interest will make them to change the system.

    • I’ve read it. It’s a great piece of work. I don’t agree with everything Jah has to offer. Far from it, actually, but he certainly is one of those men that sets you thinking. He’s also very keen on the two listeners, as am I.

Anthony – Mixing monetary reform and religion is a dangerous cocktail, giving rise to all manner of disputation on both topics — each of which is quite complex enough in its own right.

For example, I put together two sentences from your comments here:

“Jesus the man was not God, the Christ, who IS God lived in the selfless Jesus . . . today is Easter, it’s a special day for many people.”

Taken together, these statements seem to suggest that you believe in a Resurrection-less Christianity, which would of course alienate droves of believers.

And what does the Resurrection have to do with monetary reform? Nothing!

Still, I support your mixing the two because, yes, this is a spiritual war.

Was it Ernst Renan who said something to the effect that, “What early Christians expected was the kingdom of heaven on earth. What they got instead was the church”?

Christianity wholly lacks the Pharisees’ strength: invisible but international blood-bond cohesion directed at a set of immutable goals and a genius at organizing to achieve those ends.

    Beat that. – Bruce

    • Thanks Bruce, interesting points.

The reason the Internet has worked for me is because, everywhere I went, I just took what I liked and disregarded the rest. “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”

I assume my readers will do the same and considering the level of feedback I’ve been receiving, I think that is not overoptimistic.

Furthermore, I’ve read interesting bits and pieces from people that made me curious about their opinions on larger issues. Sometimes, when I found out later, I either looked more critically or more enthusiastically at their opinions I appreciated earlier.

This, then, is a service to my readers, so they know where I’m coming from, giving them an opportunity to weigh my positions more carefully and integrally.

I take the same line with the conspiracy and the Jewish Question, also wider issues closely related to the money problem that I sometimes discuss.

I don’t waste much of my reader’s time with these issues. My opinions on them are not very important, there are others that have done better work on it. Their main purpose is as discussed.

I do have issues with resurrection. I’m not sure what happened. Perhaps Jesus rose with his energy body. The bigger issue is this: the idea that the resurrection is ‘miraculous’ is, to my mind, a little childish: the Word created everything. It’s quite clear that raising a body from the dead is child’s play to it. Therefore, for me it does not prove anything more than I already knew: that He is all powerful and the creator of everything.

I most certainly vehemently disagree with your final statement. The problem is not with Christianity proper, it’s with so few people actually believing in the Christ, which has little to do with singing happy songs and going to church on Sunday, only to focus on more money making and pleasing the wife on Monday……. How many people crucify self and do what the Christ implores?

Why it’s better to grow up in Slovenia and Greece than the U.S: Childhood obesity, poor education and homicide rates put America 26th out of 29 nations in survey about best places to raise a child

Lack of education, cost of healthcare, childhood obesity and teenage pregnancies put the life chances of American children at the bottom of a table of overall well being – far behind those from poorer countries, a damning report has found.

UNICEF ranked the U.S. at the bottom of a league table of the best places to raise a child – below the likes of Slovenia, Greece, Hungary and Slovakia.

Only Lithuania, Latvia and Romania lagged behind.

The table ranks 29 developed countries according to the overall well-being of their children, with each country’s overall rank based on its average for the five dimensions of child well-being

Despite being the seventh richest country in the world, the U.S. had some of the worst rates for teenage pregnancies, homicide and childhood obesity.

The overview of child well-being was constructed out of five different dimensions – material well-being, education, health and safety, behaviors and risks and housing and environment.

Factors such as poverty, infant mortality and homicide rates were taken into consideration.

For behaviors and risks, things like teenage pregnancies, smoking cannabis, bullying, obesity and exercise taken were factored in.

The United Nations ranked the U.S. at the bottom of a league table of the best places to be a child ¿ below the likes of Slovenia, Greece, Hungary and Slovakia

The teen pregnancy rate was the worst of all 29 countries surveyed with more than 35 births per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 19

The U.S. is one of the only countries with infant mortality rates higher than six per 1,000 births, along with Latvia, Romania and Slovakia, and has one of the lowest birth weight rates of all the countries surveyed.

It also has one of the lowest rates of young people enrolled in education and preschool.

Only Greece and Romania fared worse in overall educational well-being.

America has – by far – the highest rate of children who are overweight by BMI with almost 30 per cent, though it also has one of the highest rates of children aged 11 – 15 who exercise at least one hour a day, coming second only behind Ireland.

It also ranks at the bottom of the league in homicide rates with five per 100,000.
The ‘low family affluence’ rate, the infant mortality rate, and the percentage of young people who smoke cigarettes, for example, have fallen in every single country for which data was made available.
Overall, the Netherlands was ranked first, followed by Norway, Iceland, Finland and Sweden.

The Netherlands Falls Prey to Economic Crisis

The Netherlands, Berlin’s most important ally in pushing for greater budgetary discipline in Europe, has fallen into an economic crisis itself. The once exemplary economy is suffering from huge debts and a burst real estate bubble, which has stalled growth and endangered jobs.

          Hi Bruce
Some times the truth is unpalatable, but I would prefer to ”speak the truth and scare the devil”
At present U$2Trillions per year in servicing the odious loans imposed on these countries,(Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins) in the form of compound interest, the capital having been paid several times over; from the South (the poor) to the West so that we parasites can exist in debt peonage from cradle to grave.

Now it has come home to roost, and every one is running around like headless chickens.mortified in facing the truth
You are dear boy like every one else as no one has a viable alternative, hence desperate and despondent.

Those of us with non violent solutions are devoid of such emotions.

The PIIGS were given options, but unfortunately the politicians did have fire in their bellies or steel in their veins to take on the international financial terrorists, so they abandoned their own electorate who elected them and pay their wages to the dictates of unelected un accountable men and women who charge them hefty fees for worth less advice.

Also due to the fact that most of the politicians I gather have been compromised.

Netherlands will not be the last.

The derivative obligations are U$1.5Quad trillions, the GDP of the Globe is only U$60Trillions.

There is no room for exponential growth in debt or compound interest, as a committed pacifist my fear is a WW111
